Essence is brought to you by the developer Rustam Galiev (“our”, “we” or “us”). This privacy statement explains how we use your personal information to provide you with the Essence mobile application (the “Essence”) and other services offered by us (the "Services"). This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service. If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that I collect is used for providing and improving the Service. I will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which are accessible at Essence unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to.

  1. Account information. The information that you provide to us when creating and updating an account on Essence, including your name, username, date of birth, password, and e-mail address. 

  2. Health and well-being information which you submit through the Essence App or when interacting with us and the Essence App. This may include health information relating to your:

    • Various symptoms that are related to your menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and mental and physical health.

    • The frequency and length of your period.

    • Diet and weight, including food intolerances.

    • Lifestyle and well-being details, such as frequency of exercise, energy levels, sleeping habits, libido, sexual activities skin and hair conditions, habits, and use of drugs.

    • Your lifestyle habits such as at the time you wake up in the morning to set up your morning, routines.

    • Your preferences such as the place and time you want to take the challenge or the motivation tool you choose to help you succeed in your challenge.

    • Your lifestyle habits such as your practice of meditation or your frequency of exercise when you fill out the setup questionnaires.

  3. Location information. IP address, time zone, mobile service provider. If you allow us to connect to your device’s geolocation functionality, we may collect your location data by use of GPS and wifi data, in order to give more accurate weather information.

  4. Device information such as the device's identifiers, operating system, browser type, and network information.

  5. Information relating to your use of the Essence App, including the full Uniform Resource Locators (URL), clickstream to, through and from the Essence App (including date and time), products and Services you viewed or searched for, page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as clicks), and methods used to browse away from the page.

The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Link to the privacy policy of third-party service providers used by the app.

  • Google Analytics for Firebase

  • Firebase Crashlytics

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

With Whom We Share Your Data

We share your Data with employees of our internal services such as the IT, development, or marketing services in order to provide you with the Services and assist you in your user experience. ‍
We also share your Data with third parties including service providers acting on our behalf which may host your data and/or manage the payment of the subscription for Us and/or send you promotional communications about our Services and other products and/or detect, prevent or mitigate illegal activity and/or elaborate aggregate statistics.
In that case, we ensure that the service providers adhere to our Privacy Policy and comply with the same data protection obligations as the ones set out for us. We also ensure that they provide sufficient guarantees to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures in such a manner that the processing will meet the requirements of this Policy and more broadly the applicable data protection and e-privacy regulations. 
We also share your data when you ask us to chat with another user or a person of your choice. Some of your data like your name and your picture are also visible by default to other users on the Application. We may share your data with some of our partners with your consent in order to send you offers on their products and services that we believe may have an interest for you or your employer in case of using the Application and Services through Essence for Work.
We may be lastly required to disclose your data to other competent authorities to exercise our rights conferred by law or to comply with the law or a court decision. Unless required by law or jurisdiction, we are not obligated to notify you of such data disclosures.


We may share anonymized data about users of the Essence App with research or medical institutions. This will help them to carry out research on health and well-being, with the intention to improve women’s health. The type of anonymized data that we might share includes mood, period, or sleep data. As the data is anonymized, it will not identify any individual and therefore will not be personal data.


Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device's internal memory.
This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third-party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service.

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

  • To facilitate our Service;

  • To provide the Service on our behalf;

  • To perform Service-related services; or

  • To assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

We want to inform users of this Service that these third parties have access to their Personal Information. The reason is to perform the tasks assigned to them on our behalf. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.


We value your trust in providing us with your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security despite all our effort. We take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal data is treated securely. In particular, all information you provide to us is stored on our supplier’s secure servers (including within the ‘cloud’) and any information we process relating to your payment transactions will be sent over an encrypted connection or other secure networks. We will also anonymize your personal information before sharing it with third parties for research purposes (where you have permitted us to share such data). Where you have chosen a password that enables you to access the Essence App, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential.

This Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.

Children’s Privacy

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, I immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do the necessary actions.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
